When politics leads and society follows?
For last two three days I have been watching the continuous coverage on the induction of few members in BJP who were sacked from the cabinet of BSP government headed by Ms Mayawati. It has become a bigger issue rather than any other in last few days. It would be unfair to be on neutral side on this whole affair which has almost drawn the attention of every one. Simultaneously one other development took place when the anti graft crusader for last one year Anna Hazare and his team seems to be in total disarray as long as their next strategy is concerned. What Fails team Anna?
Is it the right way to define the strength in democracy in the form of numbers and crowd only? This was the one potent question which arises in my mind when this leg of the movement of team Anna was almost declared as flop show because of the poor showing of people in MMRDA ground in Mumbai and at Ramlia Maidan in Delhi. In my opinion it is dangerous argument in any democracy as it is loaded with possibility of setting aside thoughts, suggestions on the cast of numbers and crowds but this theory does not apply to team Anna as they were relying heavily on crowds and in an debate in Kolkata with Times Now Arvind kejariwal categorically stated that any group who can mobilize 50,000 plus crowd can force government to bend on backward to negotiate with that group. दिग्विजय सिंह के हिंदू आतंकवाद का सच
पिछले कुछ माह से कांग्रेस के महासचिव दिग्विजय सिंह अपने कुछ तथाकथित बयानों को लेकर चर्चा में हैं। हालाँकि उनके बयान या उनकी राय कोई नयी नहीं है लेकिन जिस प्रकार पिछले माह सम्पन्न हुए कांग्रेस के महाधिवेशन में दिग्विजय सिंह को अपनी बात कहने का अवसर दिया गया और इसके लिये कांग्रेस के मंच का उपयोग हुआ उसके बाद इस बात के लिये कोई शंका नहीं रहा गयी कि जो कुछ कांग्रेस महासचिव कह रहे हैं वह उनकी व्यक्तिगत राय भर नहीं है और इसके लिये उन्हें कांग्रेस के आला कमान का वरदह्स्त प्राप्त है। Read more
बिहार जनादेश के निहितार्थ
बिहार में बहुप्रतीक्षित विधानसभा चुनाव सम्पन्न हो गये और अब उस पर विश्लेषणों का दौर चल रहा है। इन चुनावों में जिस प्रकार असाधारण जनादेश आया है उसके बाद इन बारीकियों का विश्लेषण करने का कोई अर्थ नहीं है कि किस जाति या बिरादरी ने किसे कितना मत दिया या फिर किस मजह्ब ने किसे मत दिया और किसे नहीं। जिस अनुपात में जनादेश आया है उसने इन विश्लेषणों को मह्त्वहीन कर दिया है अब केवल चर्चा इस बात पर हो सकती है कि बिहार के जनादेश के निहितार्थ क्या हैं और राष्ट्रीय राजनीति के लिये इसमें क्या सन्देश छुपा है। Read more
